Step 1: Visit the official website www.tin-nsdl.com
Step 2: Click on PAN in the services section.
Step 3: Click the option apply under the section “Change/correction in PAN Data”
Step 4: Select “changes or correction in existing PAN data/Reprint of Pan card (No changes in Existing PAN data)” from the dropdown menu “Application type”
Step 5: Click ‘category’ from the dropdown menu and select the right category. For instance, if the registered name of the pan is yours, Select the option ‘individual’ from the list.
Step 6: enter your name, date of birth, email, and mobile number.
Step 7: Now, fill in the captcha code and click the “submit” button.
Step 8: your request has been recorded. You will receive a token number on your email ID. Click on the given button if you want to continue the process.
Step 9: After clicking the button, you will be taken to the form, where you will see three options for submitting your documents. Select “Submit scanned images through e-sign on NSDL e-gov.”
Step 10: Fill in the important details, such as your Aadhaar number, your father’s name, and your mother’s name (optional).
Step 11: Now, you will be taken to a new page where you can change/update your address.
Step 12: Upload the necessary documents; proof of age, proof of address, proof of identity, and PAN.
Step 13: Now, sign the declaration and click the button “Submit.”
Step 14: You will be taken to the payment page now. You can do payments by net banking, credit/debit card, and demand draft.
Step 15: Once the payment is done, you will receive an acknowledgment slip. Take a print of it and send it to the NSDL e-gov office with proof of documents. You need to affix two identity-size photos with your sign in the space given. Mention “Application for PAN change” and the acknowledgment number on the top of the envelope.

Processing time for correction/update of a PAN card:
Once you submit the application successfully at the pan department, the portal (NSDL or Alankit) through which you applied for the pan card correction will send you an acknowledgment slip. The company works with the PAN department regularly to make the applicants aware of the application status.
At first, the applicants will receive a message wherein they are informed that their application is under process. After successful processing, they will receive a message wherein they are informed that their application has been accepted and their PAN will be dispatched soon.
